Nigerian businessman Dozy Mmobuosi’s €115 million takeover of Sheffield United is ready to fall amidst ongoing claims that the business tycoon gave €8.7 million to help the financially struggling club.
Close sources claim that Mmobuosi’s relationship with the club’s present owner Prince Abdullah has arrived at such a place that the ownership deal for the Championship side is at major risk.

As per reports, the tycoon has forked out close to a staggering €9 million for the Bramall Lane Club to help the financially struggling club satisfy their obligations, expecting his protracted buy-out would have a ratification early in 2023.
At present, Mmobuosi is in conflict with Prince Abdullah amidst the assertions he made with cash deposits to help the club secure its future.
Reports claimed on November 18, 2022, Mmobuosi and Prince Abdullah joined hands on a deal for the club worth a whopping €115m at London’s Dorchester Hotel.
As his intention proof, Mmobuosi is believed to have soon transferred €1 million. Three days prior to Christmas, he is claimed to have received another payment of €5.6 million to help them avoid administration. It was an advance on the proviso that the sale confirmations would be by early 2023.
Reports further claim that on January 24th, 2023, Mmobuosi transferred an extra £1.2 million as the club requested him to take care of their HMRC bill, which according to sources, have hoped the Blades lift the transfer embargo imposed on them in January.
Current relationship between the two
It’s now time to find out if there are chances for a revival of the agreement between Sheffield United and the other party, and there’s a small hope that the sale will happen at the actually agreed price of €115m.
