At last, the trailer of the last film of veteran actor Rishi Kapoor ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ dropped on Amazon Prime Video. The streaming giant also took social media to make the declaration. The veteran actor Rishi Kapoor passed away on 30th April 2020 after such a prolonged fight with cancer.
He also had the shot for most of Sharmaji Namkeen along with Juhi Chawla at the start of 2020. Later the producer of the filed has been roped in actor Paresh Rawal to contain Kapoor’s shoes and complete the film’s shoot.

This story of the film is based on a slice of the life story of an ordinary man and also his extraordinary pursuit to find new meaning in life. In this film, Sharmaji is a recent 58-year-old retired middle-class man looking for such fresh hobbies to pick up. All the sons suggest he try yoga, Zumba, or also take up driving classes but he has a knack for cooking.
Soon he also finds a woman looking for a cook for their Satsang event but it has been turned out slightly scandalous kitty party After getting offended Sharmaji soon strikes a friendship with the woman mainly the one who is also played by Juhi Chawla. It seems that the makers also describe it as “a relatable and heartwarming tale of self-realization and discovery it mainly following the journey of a retired man who also finds his passion for cooking after joining a women’s kitty circle”.
Juhi Chawla said,” It is one of the sweetest, warmest and funniest scripts I have heard in some time. When it was first narrated to me, I was excited. The dialogues and moments of the entire film keep you smiling and chucking with laughter and Chintuji’s role is tailor-made for him.
It seems that Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment said that Sharmaji Namkeen gave a tribute to the late lead actor of the movie, Rishi Kapoor.
