Among his upcoming projects is the much-anticipated C Sankaran Nair biopic. Initially rumored to be titled “The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair,” recent reports suggest that the film might be named “Shankara.” The final approved title has been revealed, and the film is being produced by Karan Johar, as per Bollywood Hungama reports.

According to a source from Bollywood Hungama, the film will indeed be titled “Shankara.” After extensive discussions, the team unanimously agreed that “Shankara” is a fitting title for the film and has a Pan-India appeal. The official announcement regarding this title will be made when the makers unveil the next press release or promotional material for the film.
Starring Akshay, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, delves into the gripping narrative of a lawyer’s crusade against the British Raj to expose Punjab Lieutenant Governor Michael O’Dwyer’s involvement in the tragic 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. This compelling storyline is adapted from the book ‘The Case That Shook The Empire,’ authored by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, the great-grandson and wife of Chettur Sankaran Nair, respectively.
During the film’s announcement, Karan Johar expressed his enthusiasm and pride in supporting a project that unveils the historic courtroom battle led by Sankaran Nair, shedding light on the truth behind the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. He acknowledged Sankaran Nair’s valor as a catalyst for India’s freedom struggle, showcasing the power of standing up for truth. Shankara is set to be directed by debutant filmmaker Karan Singh Tyagi.
In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, actor Alexx O’Nell, who plays a role in Shankara, disclosed that a significant portion of the film’s shooting is pending. The film’s release timeline is now uncertain, raising anticipation among audiences regarding its potential debut in cinemas this year.
