Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement for the transfer of Thomas Delaney for a fee close to €10 million.
The Denmark international will be the sixth recruit for the Basque club this summer, after Marko Dmitrovic, Erik Lamela from Tottenham Hotspur, Gonzalo Montiel, Ludwig Augustinsson and Rafa Mir already joining the club.
Delaney is expected to sign a contract worth €6 million and will run until either 2024 or 2025. Sevill could also go for a new player at centre-back if Jules Kounde leaves the club for Chelsea in the next few days, with the London club still interested in bringing the defender over.
Personal terms have already been agreed between Delaney and Sevilla and the transfer will be announced soon. He will be a part of an impressive squad that could challenge for the title this season, with Real Madrid and Barcelona seemingly made defeatable by the heroics of Atletico Madrid last year.
In the case of Kounde, Chelsea are working to sell Kurt Zouma to West Ham United for a fee worth €30 million, and will make a bid for the Sevilla player in the next few days if they really want to make the move happen.
The European Champions have also been linked with the services of Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez on an initial loan deal, and they are expected to make the decision on his, as well as Kounde’s transfer in the next few days before the transfer window closes.
