The final day of the Serie A season is here, and we will finally know who wins the title for the 21/22 season by the end of the day. AC Milan can win their first Scudetto in eleven years today, beating their rivals Inter to the title.

In this article, we will be taking a look at the situations in which AC Milan and Inter can win the title respectively.

How can AC Milan win the Serie A title this year?

For the Rossoneri to win the title, they only need one more point from their last game of the season against Sassuolo. They already played their last home game of the season, and will be travelling to the Mapei Stadium.

Since AC Milan won the derby against Inter, and have a better head to head record against them, a point against Sassuolo would be enough to earn them the Serie A title. If Inter lose, Milan win the title no matter what the result in their own game.

How can Inter Milan retain the Scudetto?

The chances for Inter to retain the Serie A title are slim, and frankly, out of their hands. AC Milan will have to lose to Sassuolo, while the Nerrazzuri must win their final game against Sampdoria. Even if Inter Milan win, but AC Milan draw, they will miss out on the title due to a better head to head record.

So, AC Milan are heading into the final day with an advantage in the race for the Scudetto.
