Sergio Ramos is set to return to La Liga, after accepting a short-term contract offer from his former club Sevilla, amidst interest from Al Ittihad. The Saudi Arabian club were eager to reunite him with fellow former Real Madrid captain Karim Benzema.

The Saudi club made a two-year contract offer to him, but he has not committed to them amidst interest from Sevilla. The player has now made up his mind and is headed back to where it all began for him.

The defender had also received an offer from Besiktas and another couple of Turkish clubs. There were rumours that he could have moved to the MLS to reunite with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami. But, he turned down that offer to stay in Europe and is expected to make his final decision very soon.

Ramos spent 16 years with Real Madrid after coming through the Sevilla academy and eventually leaving for them in 2005. After winning everything for club and country as a Los Blancos icon, he has the chance to return to Sevilla after 18 years away.

Sergio Ramos would be playing in the Champions League again, since the Basque side have been drawn in Group B alongside Arsenal, Lens and PSV Eindhoven.
