SC East Bengal were in turmoil for the whole of the off season and has minimal time to form a proper team. And, just like last season, they found themselves languishing at the bottom part of the ISL table.
Former Real Madrid Castilla coach, Jose Manuel Diaz failed to win any of his first 8 games in Indian football and SCEB now have just 4 points from 8 matches and are at the bottom of the table.
There have been many tales of player-coach rift inside the dressing room along with the poor man-management skills and bizarre team selection. In addition to all this, the poor result on the field has resulted in the decision of mutually parting ways.
SC East Bengal appoint Renedy Singh as the interim head coach after parting ways with Jose Manuel Diaz
SC East Bengal said in a club statement: “SC East Bengal confirms that Jose Manuel Diaz and his deputy Angel Puebla Garcia have mutually agreed to part ways due to personal reasons.”
“Former India captain and our assistant coach Renedy Singh has taken over charge as interim head coach.”
After parting ways with Diaz, SC East Bengal have appointed their assistant coach Renedy Singh as the interim coach. The Kolkata club will take on Bengaluru FC on 4th January at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim. It will be interesting to see the team selection and how they perform under the new management.
