Jamshedpur FC defeated SC East Bengal 1-0 thanks to a very late goal from Ishan Pandita. Here are the three key talking points from the game.

SC East Bengal become first team ever to field all Indian XI

Interim manager Renedy Singh fielded an all Indian XI for the first time in the history of the ISL. However, it wasn’t enough for the Red and Gold side to earn any points from the game.

Although they played well to keep Jamshedpur away from the goal, they eventually found their way to the back of the net. And in the process, East Bengal’s winless run continues for 11 games straight.

The Greg Stewart show continues

The Scottish forward has been named the Hero of the Month for December, and also won the Hero of the Match award for assisting Ishan Pandita’s winner.

Stewart has the most goals and assists combined in the league, and is on his way to winning the player of the season award if he continues to perform at this level.

New day, new leader

With their win against SC East Bengal, Jamshedpur FC are now at the top of the league with 19 points from 11 games. Much like Kerala Blasters FC before them, Jamshedpur’s lead is built on a small point gap.

They are only four points clear of ATK Mohun Bagan in fifth place, who also have two games in hand. As a result, anything can happen in the next few weeks in the ISL.
