What’s the Story About?
August Howell, a descendant of the legendary “Witch of Cambridge”, walks free after thirty years in prison for drowning her three young daughters. The university town she returns to doesn’t want her back.
Then a killer starts hunting, and fears grow that her return has triggered a modern-day witch hunt. Police turn to her only surviving daughter, Professor Wren Howell, an academic and investigative psychologist. Together, mother and estranged daughter must find the culprit while old resentments and local folklore collide.
