Samuel Lino announced as new Atletico Madrid player until 2027

Atletico Madrid have confirmed the signing of Samuel Lino on a five-year deal from Gil Vicente. Personal terms had been agreed months ago, and the move has now been made official by the Rojiblancos.

The winger becomes the second new signing of the summer for Diego Simeone, after the arrival of Axel Witsel was confirmed recently. The Belgian has signed a one-year deal, with the option to extend for another year.

Samuel Lino officially joins Atletico Madrid

“I’m very happy to be here at Atletico,” Samuel Lino said upon his signing as carried by Mundo Deportivo. “It’s a great club. It means a lot to me. It’s a feeling of great pride. I have no words to describe this moment. When I started playing football as a child I always dreamed of playing for the big clubs and coming to Atletico fulfilled that dream. It’s made me very happy because since I was little I’ve imagined this moment. I can only be grateful.”

The youngster has the ability to play on either flank, and has been able to establish himself in the Portuguese league. In 99 games with Gil Vicente, Lino scored 26 goals and provided 5 assists

With one of the top clubs in Europe, there is hope that he will be able to take his talent to the next level. Atletico Madrid are trying to bolster their squad for the summer to try and regain the La Liga title they lost to their local rivals Real Madrid, and have taken the right steps to do that so far.
