Samsung Shifts Galaxy S25 Series Launch Plans: Dimensity 9400 Rumored Only for Affordable Galaxy S25 FE

The Galaxy S25 series is generating buzz ahead of its anticipated early launch next year, with numerous rumors swirling around its internal specifications.

We’ve heard rumors that Samsung would use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, a rumor that makes sense considering its reported challenges with ramping up production of its custom-designed 3nm GAA nodes. Ineffective mass production of the Exynos 2500 as a result, was not profitable for the company.

More About the Samsung Galaxy S25 Series

Nonetheless, there was a silver lining of hope that Samsung could cut its chipset costs significantly at least in the case of the base model by using the freshly unveiled Dimensity 9400. However, new inside information suggests this may no longer be the case. Rather than the Galaxy S25 series getting a Dimensity 9400 boost, it looks like that will instead be down to an upcoming more affordable Galaxy S25 FE model.

Speculation was built by previous rumors from Jukanlosreve that the Exynos 2500 would be adopted for not just the Galaxy S25 FE, but likewise Samsung’s next-gen foldable in The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and The Galaxy Z Flip. The latest updates suggest that the Dimensity 9400 will indeed power the Galaxy S25 FE, making it one of Samsung’s most attractive value-oriented flagship devices, assuming the pricing remains competitive alongside this chipset upgrade.

Jukanlosreve did not mention where he heard this from and also did not say what happened to the Exynos 2500. This is a rumor and not confirmed, however, it hints that Qualcomm could interfere in the agreement between Samsung and MediaTek. It stands to reason, after all; a Galaxy S25 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 would be an exclusive launch for Qualcomm.

Remember that Snapdragon is also a division of Qualcomm, which has seen its fair share of criticism from antitrust regulators over what some claim to be anti-competitive behavior. As the launch date draws closer, tech enthusiasts remain eager to see how these developments unfold and what they mean for Samsung’s strategy.
