Samsung has a Quick Share feature on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra that uses the UWB for files. It indicates that Samsung is working on the Private Share method of sharing and securing files once shared.

According to sources, Samsung is indeed working on a new feature called Private Share. It is a blockchain-based secure file transfer app that allows the senders to set an expiration date for the shared file. As you might have guessed, the shared files will be deleted from the recipient’s phone once the expiration time or date has passed.

The source also claims that both the recipient and the sender will need to have the Private Share app on their phones. The sender will initiate the transfer request, with the recipient having the option to accept or reject the incoming request. Reports also suggest that the file which is already shared once cannot be shared back again. The details are still fuzzy, and it is unclear whether the app will be accessed via the file manager apps.

Sources claim that the Private Share app could debut on the upcoming Galaxy S21 series, but knowing Samsung, it won’t be a surprise if the app suddenly starts popping up for other galaxy devices that are not flagships.

Blockchain is said to be one of the best ways to handle everything safely and soundly. Samsung is working on the tech that implements Blockchain will make things better and more secure for its users. Whether exactly how the app will work and the interface details and other features are still unknown. But knowing Samsung, it will release the details pretty soon. Till then, stay tuned.
