The Odyssey G4 series, which includes the S25BG40 and S27BG40, has been released by Samsung. The S25BG40 and S27BG40 are 25-inch and 27-inch monitors, respectively, as their model names suggest. Samsung appears to differentiate the two mainly by their weight, dimensions, and panel size; all other attributes appear to be identical.
The Odyssey G4 series also includes an Eco Light sensor, reduced input latency mode, and a refresh rate optimiser. Samsung has included dual HDMI 2.0 connectors, a DisplayPort 1.2 connection, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack on both displays. The Odyssey G4 lacks USB ports, unlike Samsung’s other new Odyssey gaming monitors. Samsung has yet to confirm the price for the S25BG40 and S27BG40.

Samsung claims that the pair has 1 ms GtG reaction times, 240 Hz refresh rates, and a peak brightness of 400 nits. Samsung also boasts 99 per cent sRGB colour gamut coverage, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and viewing angles of 178°(H)/178°(V). Samsung has integrated AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC support for less image tearing, which is unsurprising.
