Although there haven’t been any leaked specifications as of yet, the concept of a more affordable foldable Galaxy phone is not wholly novel. Additionally, given that Samsung anticipates selling 20 million foldable phones in 2024, it is plausible that the company would wish to expand its foldable phone series by introducing a more affordable model.
Samsung may be preparing a less expensive Galaxy Z Flip
It remains to be seen if this purportedly less expensive foldable smartphone will be a member of the expanding Fan Edition family of products. Recent releases from Samsung include the Galaxy S23 FE, two new Fan Edition tablets, and its first set of wireless earbuds with the FE moniker. Things would undoubtedly become even more fascinating if the FE family included a less expensive folding Flip phone.
I doubt Samsung would gain from producing a foldable flip phone that is easy to break or has poor water resistance because the company’s build quality requirements, for example, are greater than ever (as are the competition’s).
