Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition will go on sale in some markets next week. The new foldable smartphone will be thinner and lighter than the original Galaxy Z Fold 6 that launched this year. It also features improvements in several areas, including the camera system and display. However, its launch will be limited initially to its home base, South Korea.

In South Korea, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is priced at KRW 2,789,600 (around ₹1,70,000) starting cost. It will be offered in a single configuration with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, available in a Black Shadow color. Customers can purchase the foldable device beginning October 25 through the Samsung website and other online platforms such as T Direct Shop, KT, and Eu+. Customers will also get special price discount coupons for different Samsung devices including Galaxy Ring, Buds 3 Pro, and Tab S10 Ultra.

Compared to the original, the Special Edition gets slightly bigger screens with an 8-inch interior screen and a 6.5-inch outer display. In contrast, the standard model has a 6.3-inch external display and a 7.6-inch internal screen, with aspect ratios of 21:9 and 20:18, respectively.

Along with that, the special edition has been built to offer better ergonomics as compared to the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6 — it is thinner by 1.5mm and 3g lighter. With a thickness of 10.6mm and a weight of 236g. In terms of camera capabilities, the main wide-angle lens has been upgraded to 200 megapixels, while the other lenses remain the same.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy processor, combined with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. It is also compatible with Galaxy AI, a package of artificial intelligence functions for smartphones and other devices developed by Samsung.
