According to the latest benchmark leak, the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus will sit in the middle of Samsung’s upcoming flagship tablet trio, and thankfully, it will be powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 as the top-end Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus was recently discovered on Geekbench 6, with the image below displaying the slate’s single-core and multi-core scores of 2,005 and 5,343, respectively.
According to an earlier leak, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is only marginally faster than the smaller tablet, implying that larger-screen devices have better cooling capabilities. The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus is also faster than the Galaxy S23 Ultra, despite sharing the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which is fantastic.
These results show that Samsung did not reduce the performance of the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus in order to sell more Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra units, implying that both devices will serve their respective purposes and target markets.
The Geekbench 6 benchmark also reveals that the tablet has 12GB of RAM, but it is unclear whether this is the highest configuration that Samsung will offer to customers. We have seen the previous reports that the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra would ship with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, so the maximum available memory may only be available in the larger model.
Even though Samsung limits the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, it is more than enough for the vast majority of users looking for a laptop substitute. The smaller display may not be suitable for everyone, which is why the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, assuming you are willing to pay for it, has a place.
