Samsung delays the launch of its Galaxy Tab S9 Series

According to reports, Samsung had intended to introduce the Galaxy Tab S9 series this year. However, a number of issues, including the economy, have forced the company to postpone the introduction. The new generation of flagship tablets will instead debut sometime in the following year, hopefully with upgraded hardware.

The Elec reports that Samsung is suffering certain economic difficulties that have compelled the Korean juggernaut to change course from the initial plan to launch the Galaxy Tab S9 series in December 2022. The market for tablets has drastically decreased, and even Apple’s iPad line, which continues to generate billions in revenue annually, is experiencing a decline in sales.

If Apple waits until 2023 to release its inexpensive iPad 10 and M2 iPad Pro series, it will have the advantage for a few months. Samsung would probably continue with three Galaxy Tab S9 models, just like the Galaxy Tab S8 portfolio. One would target the general public with its rather low price and, in order to reduce manufacturing costs, it would likely come with an LCD display rather than an OLED one.

The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus would likely be the second one, and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra might be the most expensive of them all.

If all three tablets had been released in December 2022, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 would have most likely been their power source. One tipper claims that this SoC has improved in the NPU, ISP, and GPU, making it the ideal addition to an Android-powered tablet that demands the highest level of performance.

Although Samsung is now trailing Apple in the premium tablet market, it should be recognised that it is the only vendor pursuing this market seriously in order to maintain competition.
