Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra US Variant Appears on Geekbench Benchmark

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to launch in January 2025 as part of the rumored Galaxy S25 series. Recent leaks have been speculating the SoC that will fuel the upcoming Galaxy S25 series. The US model of Galaxy S25 Ultra has allegedly shown up on the Geekbench benchmarking site with a Snapdragon chipset exclusively. There were initial reports stating the whole Galaxy S25 series will get Exynos chips in every market, but one too many rumors later and we learned Snapdragon SoCs would be applied across the globe.

Leaks About the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

A Samsung device identified by the model number SM-S938U appeared on Geekbench today, and this should be the Galaxy S25 Ultrasimilar to the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which has the model number SM-S928U. Also of note is the ‘U’ portion of that model number, which indicates this device is for the United States market.

Geekbench scores a single-core performance of 3,069 points and a multi-core performance of 9,080 points. Based on the listing, the device may have 10.54GB of RAM—hinting at either 12GB of memory or a totally different number being assigned to GB for whatever reason. The listing also suggests the phone will get its power from an octa-core processor called the ‘Sun’ meant to be Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 that is yet to be unveiled. This chipset is expected to have two Prime CPU cores with a maximum clock speed of 4.19GHz and six cores capped at 2.90GHz.

It’s important to note that the reported maximum frequency is lower than the expected peak clock speed of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which is rumored to reach 4.32GHz for performance cores and 3.53GHz for efficiency cores. However, these specifications are likely to be refined prior to the official release. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is listed to run on Android 15, with the entry published on September 24.

Earlier speculation suggested that the Galaxy S25 series would feature Exynos 2500 chipsets. However, it has since been reported that the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra will all utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 globally. This follows Samsung’s dual-chip strategy for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+, which feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the US and Samsung’s Exynos 2400 in most other regions, including India.
