Samsung has finally taken the wraps off the long-awaited slim phone at its Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, but it will go by the name of Galaxy S25 Edge instead of the previously speculated Galaxy S25 Slim. The new model brings back ‘Edge’ branding, last seen with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge in 2016, which adds a unique twist to the meets. The new phone launched with the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Despite this, naturally, the Galaxy S25 Edge was notable for its thin form factor, which traded in for the other models of the series.

Even though Samsung wouldn’t let everyone touch the device, the demo unit was hanging in mid-air revealing how lightweight and thin the phone is. The back features dual rear cameras with an LED flash in an oval-shaped arrangement, while the power and volume buttons are located on the right side. The device appeared in a silver/grey color with a boxy frame and rounded edges. Rumors suggest the thickness of the phone will be around 6.4mm, which is slimmer compared to the 7.2mm thickness of the regular Galaxy S25 and 7.6mm for the Galaxy S24.

Samsung has not disclosed the full hardware details yet, but the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to launch in May, ahead of the rumored iPhone 17 Slim/Air. Availability will likely start in the US and South Korea, though specifics remain unclear.

As for the rumored specs, the Galaxy S25 Edge could feature a 6.7-inch or 6.8-inch AMOLED display. It might be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with an Adreno GPU and offer at least 12GB of RAM. The device is expected to run Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7 skin. Camera-wise, it could have a 200MP primary sensor along with an ultra-wide-angle lens. The battery is expected to range between 3,000mAh and 4,000mAh.
