Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Launch Date, Features, and Camera Details

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was first hinted at during Galaxy Unpacked in January, and while it was briefly showcased at MWC 2025, it hasn’t been officially released yet. But this could change in the near future, a tipster claims, the phone may arrive this month. In a separate report, it is speculated that the Galaxy S25 Edge might feature the same main camera as the high-end Galaxy S25 Ultra.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), tipster Evan Blass spread a leaked teaser image that indicates the phone could be released on May 13. The picture features the slogan “Beyond Slim,” so it likely has something to do with the ultra-thin design that the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to have. This one lines up nicely with other leaks, which also hinted at a May 13 release date. But don’t expect the phone to be available worldwide at launch.

It will release first in China and South Korea on May 23, followed by the US and other markets on May 30. The device might be available for pre-order from May 14 or May 20. What’s more, after confirmation that the Galaxy S25 Edge may share a selfie camera found on all three Galaxy S25 models, new information on its rear camera system has now surfaced. The Galaxy S25 Edge, too, will reportedly flaunt a 200-megapixel primary sensor, SammyGuru tipster also reveals.

This camera features a 1/3-inch sensor with 2x in-sensor zoom, plus optical image stabilization (OIS) and an f/1.7 aperture. The phone is also said to include a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, completing its dual rear camera setup. The ultra-wide lens is expected to use a 1/2.55-inch sensor, similar to the one on the standard Galaxy S25. Samsung has already shown a glimpse of the Galaxy S25 Edge, confirming its vertical lens arrangement and pill-shaped camera module with an LED flash.
