Samsung, the South Korean tech giant, has officially acknowledged the impending launch of the Galaxy S23 FE in India. However, the curtain has not yet been raised on the official launch date. Meanwhile, leaks and rumors continue to surface, with a recent leak disclosing the expected price of this upcoming smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Leaked Pricing and Specifications
A well-known online tipster, Abhishek Yadav, has tweeted revealing that the Galaxy S23 FE will make its way to India with an initial price tag of ₹54,999 for the base model equipped with 128GB of storage. On the other hand, the 256GB variant is expected to be available in the Indian market at ₹59,999.
In comparison to its predecessor, this latest FE model does come with a slightly higher price point. The Galaxy S21 FE, which was introduced in January last year, had a starting price of ₹49,999. Notably, Samsung recently launched the Snapdragon 888-powered Galaxy S21 FE at the same price of ₹49,999. However, it’s important to note that the new model is expected to be more affordable than the Galaxy S23 series, which starts at ₹74,999.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is expected to feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Given its fan edition designation, it’s possible that the screen resolution will be limited to Full HD+ rather than 2K. There are reports suggesting that the device will feature a plastic rear panel.
Samsung may release two variants of the Galaxy S23 FE, with the Snapdragon variant being exclusive to the United States, while Exynos models will be available in international markets. Rumors suggest that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200 chipsets will power the Galaxy S23 FE in their respective markets.
The device is expected to come preloaded with OneUI 5.1 based on Android 13. Although Samsung has stated that its phones will receive 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security upgrades, it remains unclear whether the fan edition will follow the same update schedule.
Reportedly, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will feature a triple rear camera setup. The primary camera is said to house a 50MP sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), accompanied by a 12MP telephoto lens and an 8MP ultrawide lens. The front-facing camera is expected to be a 10MP sensor supporting 4K video recording.
Powering the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE could be a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging support, although it may not support wireless charging. The phone is likely to retain its IP68 water and dust resistance rating.
