Samsung Galaxy S22 series model numbers appear

This January, Samsung released the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The upcoming Galaxy S22 series will be the successor to the Galaxy S21 series released earlier this year.

Today, a fresh leak has emerged courtesy of Sammobile, which features the tentative names of the Galaxy S22 models. According to the report, the Galaxy S22 series will comprise the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

We can expect these devices to possibly carry the model numbers SM-S901x, sm-906x, and SM-S908x.

To refresh your memory, the Samsung Galaxy S21 series had model numbers such as SM-G991x, SM-G996x, and SM-G998x. The South Korean giant has been using the SM-G900x code for its S-series of flagship devices. They have been doing so since the Galaxy S5 that came out in 2014.

This time Samsung has decided to use S instead of G in the model numbers of the S22 devices. When it comes to the estimated specs, the Galaxy S22 could feature a 6.06″ or 6.1″ display, the Galaxy S22+, on the other hand, can have a larger screen, quite possibly a 6.55″ or 6.66″ display, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra may have a 6.8″ or 6.81″ display.

The Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ may feature a plastic rear, which could indicate that the S22 Ultra will have a glass back.

Samsung may also reintroduce their vapour chamber cooling for the Galaxy S22 lineup. The S22 Ultra may come up with a 200MP Penta-lens camera system with Olympus branding! The next S-series flagships are also expected to come with support for 65W fast charging.

The Galaxy S22’s triple-camera system may include a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide sensor, and a 12MP telephoto lens with up to 3x optical zoom.

Samsung is reportedly testing an Exynos chip with AMD GPU. It could release the S22 series as the first phone that would feature the AMD Exynos SoC. The Galaxy S22 lineup is expected to come in January 2022.
