Samsung Galaxy S21 FE may not launch at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event

Samsung will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event on 11 August and while multiple products are expected to be revealed, the latest report claims the rumored Galaxy S21 FE, won’t be one of them. The Galaxy S21 FE has been the subject of plenty of rumors over the last couple of months, though its release date has always been up in the air, with contradicting reports.

Previous leaks had suggested the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE would be on the list of devices launching at Unpacked 2021, but a new rumor suggests it won’t be appearing after all. A report at LetsGoDigital includes a leaked list of devices that Samsung will announce on August 11. According to the publication, the Galaxy S21 FE isn’t included on this list.

Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event still looks like it will be eventful though. The company is expected to announce the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the Galaxy Z Flip 3, new Galaxy Buds and two smartwatches running on the new Wear OS 3 platform with Samsung’s One UI Watch over the top in the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic.

Contrary to a few previous reports that suggested the Galaxy S21 FE had been delayed due to the ongoing chipset shortage, Samsung denied that it has not been forced to defer any device for this reason.

The company in a written statement to Bloomberg said, “While we cannot discuss details of the unreleased product, nothing has been determined regarding the alleged production suspension.” This suggests that the device is still in the works, and it may mean that the company already has a launch event scheduled.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE specs (Rumoured)

The S21 FE is otherwise expected to include a 6.41-inch full HD AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the front camera may be a high-quality 32-megapixel camera. At the rear is a triple camera layout with a 12MP wide camera, another 12MP ultra-wide, and an 8MP telephoto. It is expected to come with between 6 – 8 GB of RAM, and Samsung is likely adding a 4,370 mAh battery with 25W fast charging. 5G support should go without saying.
