Samsung has recently introduced the Galaxy S21 FE 5G powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC in India. This version with the Snapdragon 888 SoC follows the earlier release of the Galaxy S21 FE 5G with the Exynos 2100 SoC in India in January 2022. Samsung is also anticipated to launch the Galaxy S23 FE 5G later this year, although specific details about it are not yet available.
The All New Galaxy S21 FE 5G
In an official statement, Samsung confirmed that the upcoming Galaxy S21 FE 5G will be offered with 256GB of storage. This announcement from Samsung comes shortly after leaks indicated the imminent launch of the phone in India. The Snapdragon 888-powered Galaxy S21 FE 5G is priced at ₹49,999, making it more affordable than the original Galaxy S21 FE 5G with the Exynos 2100 SoC, which was priced at ₹54,999 for the 128GB storage variant and ₹58,999 for the 256GB storage variant.
Regarding its features, the Galaxy S21 FE 5G with the Snapdragon 888 SoC boasts a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display incorporates a hole-punch cutout housing a 32-megapixel front camera. On the back, you’ll find two 12-megapixel cameras (wide + ultra-wide) and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. The device is equipped with a 4,500mAh battery that supports both 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. Notable features include DeX support, NFC, an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
While Samsung had previously launched a Galaxy S21 FE model in India last year, the new model is expected to come with Android 13 pre-installed. To attract customers, Samsung may offer a promise of three years of software updates for Android 13. This means that despite using an older chipset, customers will still have the opportunity to enjoy new Android features for the next three years without needing to invest in the higher-priced Galaxy S23.
