Samsung Galaxy A52 and A72: Everything you need to know ahead of launch

Samsung to launch its two new Galaxy A-series smartphones this month, Galaxy A52 and A72. As per reports, there will be a 4G and a 5G variant for the Galaxy A52 whereas the A72 will only arrive with 4G connectivity. It is also said that both the smartphones will get launched in the same launch event. So, let’s check out what are the specifications we have known as of now regarding the two upcoming Galaxy A-series of smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy A52

As mentioned earlier, there will be two versions of this phone: one is 4G and the other one is 5G. The Galaxy A52 is likely to run on Android 11 OS and the 4G variant will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset whereas the 5G variant will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G chipset. The display will be almost similar in both versions, it will be a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display supported by a 90Hz of refresh rate (for 4G) and 120Hz refresh rate (for 5G) (both are protected by Gorilla Glass 5).

The SoC of the 4G variant will be paired with 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage (expandable up to 1TB). On the other hand, the SOC of the 5G variant will be paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage (expandable up to 1TB)[Memory and microSD options may differ by country]. Coming to the camera section, it will be identical in both variants. It will be a quad rear camera setup supported by an LED flash that includes a 64MP primary sensor (AF OIS), a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro, and a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies, it will have a 32MP selfie snapper at the front.

Both the 4G and 5G variants will be fueled up by a 4,500mAH battery supported by 25W of fast charging and the dimensions are also identical: 159.9×75.1×8.4mm, 187 grams.

Samsung Galaxy A72

It will have only one variant, which is 4G. It is likely to run on Android 11 OS and will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset. Regarding the display, this phone will have a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display supported by a refresh rate of 90Hz (protected by Gorilla Glass 5).
