Samsung Galaxy A16 5G with Dimensity Spotted on Geekbench

Samsung Galaxy A16 is expected to launch soon, it will be the successor of the Galaxy A15. The device has been listed on the BIS certification website and IMEI database, hinting at its launch soon along with a UK carrier EE’s listing. The all-new Samsung Galaxy A16 has recently appeared on Geekbench.

GizmoChina reports that the Galaxy A16 appears on Geekbench with code name SM-A166P. According to the listing, the motherboard of Galaxy A16 has a codenamed ‘a16xm’ with a chipset going by six cores at 2GHz and two cores at 2.40GHz which is probably MediaTek Dimensity 6300 Chipset Those results translate to a single-core test score of 512 and multi-score figure of 1,464. It will also be equipped with 6GB RAM and shall boot Android OS version 14.

Other certifications corroborate the Galaxy A16’s existence, but they reveal little else. It is expected to come with a 4G and the other version will also have support for 5G connectivity. Last month, the Indian Galaxy A15 5G was announced together with the Galaxy A25 5G and Samsung has not made any statement yet when it comes to a launch for this particular handset.

Tipped to bring improvements over the existing Galaxy A15, read on. The A15 has a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and an up-to-peak brightness of 800 nits. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The A15 includes a 50MP primary camera, a 5MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 13MP front camera for selfies. Additionally, it has a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.

With these expected upgrades, the Galaxy A16 aims to build on the success of its predecessor, offering improved performance and features. However, until Samsung makes an official announcement, the precise launch date and full specifications remain speculative.
