According to the latest information, Apple will be ordering its OLED panels for its next year’s MacBook Pro models from the South Korean tech giant, Samsung. Reports indicate that Samsung Display has now entered the early stages of preparing its production line for OLED displays for the upcoming MacBook Pro.
After receiving the orders from Cupertino giant, Samsung display has entered into a massive production spring for its client and reports suggest that the company has begun developing a new production process for OLED displays. Sources also indicate that Apple will be using Samsung display’s new production capacity for future OLED MacBooks.
We are hearing the rumours that Apple is scheduled to release its 16 to 17-inch MacBook Pro models with OLED display in 2022. There are also reports floating around that Apple is also planning to release a 10.9-inch iPad and a 12.9-inch iPad Pro that will come OLED displays the same year which is 2022.
This year we already witnessed the release of an iPad Pro that shipped with a mini-LED display, and it’s expected that the Cupertino giant will launch updated 14-inch and 16-inch MacBooks with mini-LED displays in the coming weeks. Many Apple insiders have reported that the Cupertino giant will let both the mini-LED and OLED variants of both MacBooks and iPads co-exist within their respective product lineup.
Apple has already experimented with the OLED display technology as witnessed in the company’s flagship iPhones and some Apple Watches. The Touch Bar found on the current MacBook Pros is also OLED. And after watching the success of these devices, Apple seems to be wanting to expand the OLED use in their lineup. And with Samsung supplying the displays we can expect some premium quality output from Apple’s devices.
