Samsung reportedly to make 50% more profit on its Note 20 Ultra 5G

South Korean tech giant Samsung has always delivered excellent performance in manufacturing and combining multiple technologies.

Samsungs latest Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G was launched with two variants. With Snapdragon 865+ for the US, China, and South Korea and Exynos 900 for other countries.

According to reports, it costs under $550 to make each Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G device. this is a major deal for the device as its retail price is listed to be around $1299. But the reports suggest that the $550 cost does not include other costs like marketing and research.

Lets take a closer look at the specs of Note 20 Ultra 5G

The most pricey component is of course the snapdragon 865+. But since Exynos is the in-house manufacture of Samsung, the profit of devices released with Exynos will surely be higher than that of the other variant.

On the other hand, 5G technology is expensive. The mmWave version of Note 20 Ultra 5G builds on Qualcomm’s most advance 5G Soc. Snapdragon 865+ and Snapdragon X55 5G Modem-RF system will cost approximately 10% more than Samsung’s previous sub-6 GHz variant.

The Note 20 Ultra also features one of the most advanced camera sensors and comes with a three-sensor module. The camera however has a lower resolution compared with Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G.

Other important components include NXP which combines UWB, NFC, and eSIM in a single solution. It also comes with Largan Precision, Corning, and also includes Qorvo among others.

At the end of the day, Samsung won’t be making 50% more profit for its Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The manufacturing cost may be lower for the Exynos variant. But the Snapdragon variant still costs more to manufacture.

No to mention other expenses including marketing, assembly, and testing cost, various accessories bundled in the box as standard, and even the retail packaging itself.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, is set to make more profit than Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G. However, this still is nowhere near enough to beat apple’s profit margin.
