Marseille Legends faced off against a UNICEF team in a charity game this past Wednesday, and managed to win the fixture with 7-4 with Chelsea legend Didier Drogba scoring a hat-trick.

Samir Nasri featured for Marseille and his physique was not the same as his playing days. The former Arsenal and Manchester City player had but on a few extra kilos after announcing his retirement a while ago.

He hasn’t played football in a year, having previously featured for Anderlecht in Belgium. The former player is clearly enjoying retirement having taken a break from the athletic physique that he had to maintain during his playing days in the Premier League.

While he was very influential for Arsenal, the same was not true for his tenure at Manchester City. Regardless, he won several trophies with the Sky Blues before being loaned out to Sevilla. He eventually featured for Anderlecht briefly before leaving again.

He was a quick and skillful playmaker during his peak, but is no longer the same person as is evident. Nasri was a part of the legends team that consisted of Robert Pires, Marcel Desailly, Fabrizio Ravanelli and Didier Drogba. On the other hand, the UNICEF team showcased Eric Abidal, Esteban Cambiasso, Patrick Kluivert and Gaizka Mendieta.

The French club’s legends did a remarkable job at the Velodrome and all the funds from the game went to charity.
