Salaar 2 is Coming — Prashanth Neel Confirms He’ll Start Work on Prabhas’ Sequel Right After Dragon

The wait for Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam just got a whole lot more exciting. Director Prashanth Neel, the man behind the KGF universe, has confirmed that he will dive straight into the Prabhas-led sequel immediately after wrapping up his upcoming Jr NTR actioner, Dragon. For fans who’ve been anxiously waiting since the Salaar cliffhanger, this is the news you needed.

What Prashanth Neel Said

In a conversation with Galatta Plus, Neel confirmed that Salaar 2 production will kick off right after Dragon is completed. He also addressed the future of KGF 3, noting that no decision has been made yet on when he’ll return to that franchise.

Interestingly, Neel also revealed that Dragon will mark a shift away from his signature hyper-stylized mass-action style — hinting at a mythological film series with a more colorful visual palette, and even a small intimate drama project in the pipeline.

What Is Salaar 2 About?

The sequel continues the explosive story of childhood friends Deva (Prabhas) and Vardharaja Mannar (Prithviraj Sukumaran). Set in the dark, lawless city-state of Khansaar, the story centers on political betrayal, brotherhood, and a high-stakes battle for the throne. The supporting cast includes Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Shruti Haasan, and Easwari Rao, among others.

Prabhas’ Packed Schedule

While Salaar 2 preps, Prabhas is keeping himself busy on two other massive fronts. Fauzi, a period action drama directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, is eyeing a December 2026 release. Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga (of Animal fame), is lined up for March 5, 2027.
