Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will come with a more advanced stylus dubbed, the S Pen Pro if rumors making the rounds online are anything to go by. The South Korean tech behemoth could be taking the wraps off its much-awaited foldable phone next month. The device could make an appearance at the Samsung Unpacked event, which kicks off on August 11.
While the Galaxy Z Fold 3 has made multiple appearances on the web in the form of some compelling leaks. However, details about the phone’s S Pen compatibility are still scarce. Details have finally leaked about a new, more advanced Samsung stylus, the S Pen Pro, which could be compatible with the display on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, expected to launch at Samsung Unpacked.
The S Pen Pro isn’t a secret – Samsung itself revealed the stylus, suggesting it would launch with the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. While that premium phone didn’t launch with the S Pen Pro. Leaker Chun(@chunvn8888) — who has shared other Samsung tips in the past — took to Twitter with a list of purported specifications and details about the previously-announced Samsung S Pen Pro.
S Pen Pro Details
As Per Chun’s tweet, the S Pen Pro will have the same 0.7mm tip and 4,096 pressure points as the S21 Ultra’s S Pen stylus, but it will also be usable on the Z Fold 3’s foldable display, manually charge via USB-C, and attach magnetically to the back of certain phone cases. Presumably, that won’t also mean wireless charging akin to the way the S Pen charges when clipped to the Tab S7 tablet, but we can hope.
As we’ve previously heard directly from Samsung, the larger and more robust new S Pen Pro will feature Bluetooth LE connectivity, unlike the S Pen that started shipping at the same time as the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Like the earlier Galaxy Note 20 S Pen, Bluetooth would open up additional features outside of tapping and drawing on the screen, such as using the stylus to control media, snap photos, and more.
Lastly, the leaker suggests that the Samsung S Pen Pro could cost about £70 in the UK. If true, that translates to a little less than $100 in the United States, but there is often a less severe disparity in UK-to-U.S. pricing than the exchange rate suggests. For example, the simpler S21 Ultra S Pen sells for £34 in the UK and $40 in the U.S. Again, these are not official details, but they do match up with previous claims about the new stylus.
