AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and NVIDIA RTX 4080 Selected for PGL CS2 Major Tournament

PGL recently introduced an update to their gaming PCs before the highly anticipated CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 event, a key competition in the Counter-Strike 2 tournament series with a substantial prize pool of $1,250,000. Powering these gaming systems for the esports tournament is AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, known as one of the top CPUs in the industry.

CEO of PGL Silviu Stroie highlighted the organization’s commitment to offering notch environments for players by stating, “By opting for the AMD Ryzen 7800X3D for our gaming setups we are ensuring that the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 will be remembered for its intense competition and flawless technical performance.”

In editions of PGL’s PCs, they also utilized AMD Ryzen processors such as the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and Ryzen 9 5950X. However, player feedback expressed dissatisfaction with the Ryzen 9 5950X due to its limited use in Counter-Strike 2 and resulting subpar performance. In response to this feedback, PGL upgraded to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D which provided frame rates and gameplay experience.

Upgrading to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, a core Zen 4 processor with innovative V Cache technology shows a promising step towards enhancing performance compared to its predecessors. The transition from Zen 3 to Zen 4 architecture is expected to optimize setups for PGLs catering to Counter-Strike 2 players who prioritize high-speed gameplay.

In addition to the Ryzen processor the acclaimed Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 stands out as a of the line graphics card in the current market. While pairing the Ryzen 7 7800X3D with the GeForce RTX 4080 might seem like a setup for Counter-Strike 2 professional gamers often focus on maximizing frame rates even if it means compromising image quality and resolution for gameplay experiences.

To make the most of this hardware prowess PGL has chosen the Zowie XL2566K gaming monitor that boasts a 24.5-inch display size, a resolution of 1920 x1080, and an impressive refresh rate of up to 360 Hz. With this combination in place the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, alongside the GeForce RTX4080 is well positioned to deliver performance that exceeds target frame rates effectively.
