A new rumour has emerged today that suggests the popular game Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds or PUBG might be going Free to Play soon. PUBG has established itself as one of the most popular battle royale games on the PC gaming market and if the rumour turns out to be true, the game will be accessible to everyone soon.

The source of the leak is a tweet from PlayerIGN, who stated that the game will be free to play soon. As per the source, this decision to go free to play will be based on the reception of the current player base and their response to it.

The developers will track the Player’s response in a free-to-play week that is expected to arrive next week. The game could go free depending on if there is a huge influx of new players or not and most importantly, the response of their existing gamer base.

PlayerIGN also added that PUBG had aimed to become a free-to-play back in 2019 itself. However, the developers did not receive the response they had hoped for during the free-to-play test run and as a result, scrapped the decision.

Since this is a rumour, it is best to take it with a grain of salt, we will have to wait for an official tweet from PUBG till we can confirm this.
