As per the report, Oppo will unveil the Find X8 at an event in October 2024, to be followed by the release of the Find X8 Ultra sometime in Q1 2025. With the 2023 launch date steadily approaching, rumors have started to swirl regarding the Find X8 range. Smart Pikachu tipped off some information about the telephoto camera and battery capacity of the X8 through a recent leak.
The Rumors about the Oppo Find X8 Series
As per a leak, Oppo is testing a telephoto macro lens for the Find X8 series. A telephoto macro lens is unlike a regular telephoto lens which captures faraway objects in focus – telephoto macro lenses do focus on far away subjects, but also have macro functionality to focus in on close subjects. Smart Pikachu claims the battery will be over 5,000mAh, and probably between 5,100 and 5,500mAh. Past rumors have suggested that the Find X8 will be powered by the Dimensity 9400 SoC based on TSMC’s second-generation 3nm N3E process.
The Dimensity 9400 is expected to include one Cortex-X5 super core running at 3.4 GHz, three Cortex-X4 super cores, in addition to four Cortex-A7 large cores series. This chipset has some pretty impressive improvements over its predecessor, including a 34% reduced power consumption at the same speed and complexity, as well as an 18% increased performance under similar power and complexity conditions.
Though nothing is official, the Find X8 Ultra will likely be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC but there may be a third model in the works that could be called the Find X8 Pro.
While fans are getting the Find X8 series soon, they are looking forward to Oppo’s further details about it, maybe the official announcement about its specs, features, and availability. When launched, the Find X8 series will be eyeing a big impact in the competitive smartphone segment with exciting innovations in camera tech, battery performance, and chipset capabilities.
