There were many rumours claiming that Ronaldo is looking to leave the Portugal national team. However, he has now come forward to set things right. He has denied all rumours claiming his departure from the Portugal national team amidst World Cup 2022.

Cristiano Ronaldo denies rumour of leaving the Portugal national team amidst World Cup 2022

Cristiano Ronaldo said: “This group is too united to be broken by external forces. A nation too brave to be intimidated by any adversary”.

“This is a true team, that will fight for the dream until the end”.

He earlier said: “If you tell me that Portugal wins the World Cup without my goals, I’ll sign that in a moment.”

The Portuguese FA said: “Reports claiming Cristiano Ronaldo threatened to leave the national team during a conversation with Fernando Santos are not true — FPF clarifies that at no time did Cristiano threaten to leave the national team in Qatar”.

The veteran exited Manchester United by mutual agreement after his interview with Piers Morgan. He publicly criticised Erik Ten Hag, the board, and the younger players at the club – which was not received very well by the club. And shortly after, the two parties decided to go their separate ways.

Ronaldo received a huge €200m contract from Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr. But nothing has been decided yet as he is fully focused on Portugal’s World Cup 2022 campaign.
