Becket Redfellow was disowned at birth by his obscenely wealthy family. Now, blue-collar and burning with resentment, he’s decided to claw back his inheritance the only way that makes sense to him — by systematically eliminating the relatives standing between him and the money.

It’s a deliciously savage premise, loosely inspired by the 1949 British classic Kind Hearts and Coronets, transplanted into a modern American setting with all the class rage and dark humour intact. Powell plays Becket as the antihero — charming enough to pull you in, ruthless enough to keep you uneasy. Margaret Qualley plays Julia, a friend who complicates every dangerous plan, while Jessica Henwick is Ruth, Becket’s girlfriend who has no idea what he’s really up to.

The supporting cast reads like a who’s who of scene-stealers: Ed Harris as the patriarch grandfather, Topher Grace as a pastor-uncle dripping with irony, Bill Camp and Zach Woods as more Redfellow casualties-in-waiting.

A Decade in the Making

This film has a wilder development story than most. Ford’s screenplay first appeared on the prestigious Hollywood Black List in 2014 under the title Rothchild. It sat in limbo for nearly a decade — at one point attached to a completely different director and stars, including Shia LaBeouf and Mel Gibson.

Development finally resumed in March 2023, with Ford committing to direct his own script. Glen Powell boarded as lead and executive producer in January 2024. The cast filled out through mid-2024, filming kicked off in June 2024 in Cape Town, and in November 2025, Powell confirmed the final title in a Hollywood Reporter interview.
