Mumbai Indians are the most successful team in IPL and its skipper Rohit Sharma has now made the most amount of money in IPL leaving former Indian captain MS Dhoni behind. Both have them have made their respective teams hugely successful in IPL and in return they have been rewarded with a huge amount of money.

Under Rohit Sharma, MI has won five titles and has earned a total of Rs.178.6 crore in the league. He has played for Deccan Chargers in three seasons and was instrumental in the team’s win in 2009’s finale.

MS Dhoni has been the skipper of Chennai Super Kings and the most expensive player in the first season of the league. His first paycheck was Rs. 6 crore, which increased to Rs. 8.28 crore in 2011, after three years it became Rs.12.5 crore and in 2018, it was Rs. 15 crore. In 2022, he accepted a contract with the franchise worth Rs. 12 crores. Altogether, his total earnings from IPL are Rs. 176.84 crore.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma is the most successful captain in IPL with five IPL trophies. In 2008, he was bought by Deccan Chargers for Rs. 3 crores, and in 2011, he was bought by Mumbai Indians for 9.2 crores. In 2014, his worth went up to Rs. 12.5 crores and four years later it became 15 crores. Last year saw him signing a contract with MI for 16 crores.

Rohit Sharma has been a very important player in Mumbai Indian’s batting lineup. In 2013, MI won its trophy for the very first time under his leadership. The second win came in 2015. The franchise continued to grow and win championships in 2017 and 2019. They won their last title in 2020. However, the team completely flopped in 2022.

Under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, Chennai Super Kings won their first and second title in 2010 and 2011. In the following year, they went to the finale but lost against Kolkata Knight Riders. In 2018, they won against Mumbai Indians and their last trophy came in 2021.

Currently, Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian team in three formats and MS Dhoni retired from team India in 2020.
