Robert Lewandowski has been heavily rumoured with a move to Barcelona in the summer if Bayern Munich cannot renew his contract. The Polish striker only has one year remaining on his contract with the club, and is holding out for a new deal.
But, Bayern Munich have not made any contact with Lewandowski or his agent for terms over an extended stay. The forward has been clear about his intentions for the future, and will push to leave the club if he doesn’t have a new contract by the end of the season.
Robert Lewandowski has clear demands for his future
The 33-year-old is one of the best number 9s in the world right now. He has scored 32 goals from 29 Bundesliga games this season, and is on the verge of guiding his club to a tenth consecutive league title at the end of the season.
He wants a three-year deal from anyone that wants to sign him for the future, including Bayern Munich, if they wish to keep him for the coming years. Despite being on the wrong side of 30, Robert Lewandowski has shown no signs of slowing down physically.
He is still among the best in the world, and has shown time and time again that he has what it takes to perform every single week. As a result, a deal that runs until he is 36 would be sensible considering the incredible physical condition that he keeps himself in.
