Manchester United is slowly picking up the pace this season. They are now joint leaders with Liverpool with 33 points. The Red Devils have the chance to took the lead in the table against Burnley on Tuesday. United fans have already started to dream about their 21st Premier League trophy this season.

But former Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand does not want to comment anything so early as he doesn’t want to be a meme material again.

Former Manchester United defender said, “[It’s a] huge week, they win against Burnley and go top and put pressure on Liverpool.”

“As quick as you can get there, you can fall away, Spurs and Chelsea were up there and fell down and people are saying it’s the end of managers in charge there. Ole’s experienced enough not to get too carried away. That’s living life at big clubs.”

“The highs are high, and the lows are lower than a snake’s belly. I don’t want to jump the gun as I’ve done before.”

“I don’t want to become a meme again, but as a football fan, it’s part of it to become emotional, to get hyped up and get excited about things.”

“United sitting pretty at the top, after the game against Burnley we hope, I’ll be excited 100 percent.”

“But then it’s a massive game after that against Liverpool to say we’re not just flybys, we’re here to stay.”

After the game against Paris Saint Germain in UEFA Champions League matchday 1, he commented, “Ole is on the Wheel!’ His comment became meme material when Manchester United failed to qualify to the knock out stage.

Yesterday Manchester United beat Watford by 1-0 in the FA Cup Third round. Ole had given the chance to some of the fringe players of the squad like Donny Van De Beek, Jesse Lingard, Brandon Williams. But they failed to perform to challenge the first-team squad.

Ferdinand said, “This game was about opportunities for the fringe players. He’s not a fringe player but McTominay was probably the only player who performed to the standard you expect or exceeded that.”

“Maybe a missed opportunity for those trying to force their way into the manager’s plans on a more regular basis. But the most important thing was to get into the next round.”
