From Day One, This Game Was Different
Resident Evil Requiem arrived with enormous hype and immediately delivered. The story of Grace and Leon returning to the iconic Raccoon City resonated deeply with longtime fans — packed with nostalgia, fan service, and genuinely terrifying gameplay moments. On launch day alone it set the record for the highest peak player count ever recorded in the franchise’s history.
Now Capcom’s official press release confirms the next milestone: 6 million units sold in under a month, making Requiem the fastest game in RE history to reach this threshold. For context, RE2 Remake currently holds the franchise’s all-time sales crown — but the way Requiem is trending, it’s only a matter of time before that record falls too.
What Comes Next?
All eyes are now on March 22, 2026 — the Resident Evil franchise’s 30th anniversary — where Capcom is expected to make some major announcements. Chief among the rumours: official confirmation and release dates for the Requiem story expansion DLC, which the game’s director has already hinted at. If the DLC lands with the same quality as the base game, Requiem’s final sales tally could genuinely eclipse everything the franchise has ever produced.
It’s a great time to be a survival horror fan. Stay tuned to TechnoSports for all the latest Capcom and Resident Evil updates.
