Motorola is working on a new flagship caliber smartphone that is packed with a 144Hz display, a 200MP camera (yes, you read that right!), and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip ‘Plus’ chip. The device has been codenamed “Frontier 22” for now. Earlier today we came across the specs of this phone courtesy of Winfuture.de.
The “Frontier 22” is expected to be available in July 2022. The device will feature an advanced version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, which is expected to be the Plus variant. It will carry 12GB LPDDR5 RAM along with 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
The display will have a 144Hz refresh rate, a 200MP camera, and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity. The curved OLED display has an aspect ratio of 20:9 with a diagonal of 6.67″. The device is equipped with a Full HD+ resolution along with HDR10+ support.
Motorola has given special attention to the camera setup of the “Frontier 22”, it comes with a 200MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP wide-angle sensor, and a 12MP telephoto lens. The device has a 60MP selfie shooter. We do not know if we will see Sony sensors or Samsung sensors on the phone.
Apart from this, the device comes with a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.2 support, dual SIM support, and a fingerprint scanner that could be integrated into the display. The battery of the “Frontier 22” comes with a 4,500mAh battery with support for 125W charging and 50W wireless charging. It runs on Android 12 OS.
As of now, we are not sure if the device will carry the official name of Frontier 22 or be named something else.
