Remove ATK: The process of removing “ATK” from the name of Mohun Bagan has started

ATK was formed in 2014 when they started playing in the inaugural season of the Indian Super League (ISL). They were the most successful club in ISL history. In 2020, one of India’s largest football clubs Mohun Bagan joined hands with ATK and formed ATK Mohun Bagan and made its entry into the ISL.

However, changing the name to ATK Mohun Bagan hasn’t gone down well with the fanbase of Mohun Bagan. They have been demanding to remove “ATK” from the name of Mohun Bagan for a long time. Finally, now the management has started the process of removing “ATK” from the name of Mohun Bagan.

Remove ATK: The process of removing “ATK” from the name of Mohun Bagan has started

Mohun Bagan’s newly elected secretary Debashis Dutt told Anandabazar Online on Monday, “Discussions have started on this.Ā The process of removing ATK has started from the beginning of the name of Mohun Bagan.Ā The previous committee did not see this as a problem.Ā But after the new committee came, they thought it was a problem.Ā As a result, discussions have started with the concerned authorities.”

“The talks are moving in the right direction Everything will be finalized in due course.”
