Xiaomi has officially teased the launch of its upcoming Redmi K80 Ultra (Extreme Edition) smartphone and the Redmi K Pad tablet in China. Both devices are expected to debut later this month at a major launch conference, with Xiaomi using the tagline “Luxury Performance Dual Flagship” to highlight their premium positioning.
The Redmi K80 Ultra (Extreme Edition) so far is looking to be a gaming-oriented flagship. Some rumored specs include the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ SoC, a massive 7,000mAh battery, and support for 120W fast wired charging.

Xiaomi is also adding an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner on this one, a feature rarely seen but on ultra-premium phones. Redmi China’s marketing head, Wang Teng Thomas, said that this is the “most luxurious performer” in the RMB 3,000 price bracket, alluding that it will be providing flagship-level specs at a fairly competitive price. Upgrades are also expected in the display, design, audio, and haptic feedback.
The K80 Ultra is likely to go head-to-head with other high-end models like the iQOO Neo 10 Pro+ and OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra (Extreme Edition). Meanwhile, the Redmi K Pad is positioned as a compact, high-performance tablet aimed at gamers and power users.
It is expected to feature an 8.8-inch 3K CSOT LCD display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a 16:10 aspect ratio. Like the K80 Ultra, it is also likely to be powered by the Dimensity 9400+ chip and support 67W fast charging with bypass mode for sustained usage.
The K Pad will likely compete with devices like the Lenovo Legion Y700 Gen 4 and RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 PRO. There’s also speculation that Xiaomi may reveal the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2, its next-gen foldable phone, at the same event. However, the company hasn’t officially confirmed its appearance yet.
