The Redmi K70 series is set to make its debut in China, succeeding the Redmi K60 lineup, with the company recently teasing its launch through multiple Weibo posts. Expected to follow the pattern of its predecessor, the Redmi K70 lineup is anticipated to consist of three models: the Redmi K70, the Redmi K70 Pro, and the Redmi K70E.
Xiaomi had previously hinted at specifications for the Redmi K70E, while leaked information about the base Redmi K70 has surfaced online. The official launch date for the Redmi K70 series has now been confirmed by Xiaomi.
The Upcoming Redmi K70 Series
In an announcement on Weibo, Xiaomi revealed that the Redmi K70 series is scheduled to launch on November 29 at 7 pm local time (4:30 pm IST) in China. The Xiaomi China website has also displayed a promotional banner for the launch event. Teaser posters shared by the company showcase a Black-colored Redmi K70 model with a triple rear camera setup. However, specific details about the model or the complete lineup have not been officially disclosed yet.
As the launch date approaches, Xiaomi is gradually disclosing more information about the smartphones. The flagship Redmi K70 Pro is officially confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. On the other hand, the Redmi K70E will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra SoC. Xiaomi has also released official images, revealing the complete design of the Pro model, which includes a triple rear camera module.
Redmi, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, has shared key specifications and the official appearance of the Redmi K70 Pro on Weibo. According to the teasers, the smartphone will be equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, a 6.67-inch display, and generative AI capabilities. Redmi promises an innovative ice-cooling system using self-developed heat-dissipation materials for effective temperature management. The design features a glass body with a thickness of 7.49mm.
Leading up to the launch, Redmi has also unveiled the official appearance of the Redmi K70 Pro through renders, displaying the handset in black and white variants with a hole-punch display design. The triple rear camera unit is led by a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and 2x optical zoom, arranged in a square-shaped module on the upper part of the device.
The Redmi K70E is confirmed to be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra SoC, featuring a 1.5K display with a peak brightness of 1,800 nits and a high-frequency PWM dimming rate of 1,920Hz. It is teased to run on Xiaomi HyperOS and house a 5,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging support.
While the chipset of the standard Redmi K70 has not been officially disclosed by Redmi, rumors suggest it will run on the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 SoC. The much-anticipated Redmi K70 series is scheduled for launch on November 29 at 7:00 pm local time (4:30 pm IST) in China.
