Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is gearing up for the upcoming launch of the Redmi K70 series, which is expected to take place later this year. This new series is set to follow in the footsteps of the Redmi K60 lineup that made its debut in December of the previous year. The anticipation surrounding the Redmi K70 series has been growing over the past month, with various rumors and leaks making the rounds. The Pro variant within this series has recently made an appearance on the renowned Geekbench benchmarking platform, shedding light on its essential specifications.
The Upcoming Redmi K70 Pro
The Geekbench database has now featured the Redmi K70 Pro, bearing the model number 23113RKC6C. Interestingly, this same model number was identified in the IMEI database back in June, alongside two additional K70-series devices. The benchmark data highlights the presence of a motherboard codenamed “Corot” on the Redmi K70 Pro, housing a CPU configuration that consists of four cores operating at 2GHz, three cores at 3GHz, and a dominant core with a clock speed of 3.35GHz.
This aligns with the configuration of the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset. Impressively, the listing showcases a substantial 16GB of RAM onboard, and the smartphone is set to debut with the Android 13 operating system right out of the box.
Turning to the performance benchmarks, the Redmi K70 Pro has achieved commendable results in both single-core and multi-core tests on Geekbench. With scores of 1,882 and 4,536 points respectively, the device showcases its prowess in handling various tasks with efficiency. Unfortunately, the Geekbench listing doesn’t divulge any additional insights into the upcoming smartphone’s features.
Notably, a respected tipster known as Digital Chat Station had previously unveiled key specifications of the Redmi K70 Pro. According to this source, the smartphone was anticipated to be driven by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. However, the Geekbench results appear to contradict this claim.
Other anticipated specifications include a robust 5,120mAh battery that supports rapid 120W charging. Moreover, the device is speculated to sport a flat display boasting a remarkable 2K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. As the rumors continue to circulate, anticipation for the Redmi K70 Pro and the entire series continues to build.
