Redmi G (2021) will sport AMD Ryzen 7 5800H & RTX 3060, launch on September 22

Finally, we have got some more specs tipped by Xiaomi before the launch of its second-gen Redmi G gaming laptop. We thought that Redmi would be sticking to Intel processors and NVIDIA RTX graphics, while the latter seems true; however, Redmi will be using AMD Ryzen 5000H processors instead.

This is surprising but not a thing to skipped out as these Ryzen CPUs are significant in terms of performance and cost lesser than Intel alternatives for OEMs. In fact, this will be a massive upgrade over last year’s model that was capped at Core i5-10200H and GTX 1650.

Redmi G (2021) will sport AMD Ryzen 7 5800H & RTX 3060, launch on September 22

As per the posters on Weibo and confirmation by Notebookcheck, the upcoming Redmi G (2021) gaming laptop will sport an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor along with the latest RTX 3060 graphics. This will be a massive upgrade in terms of performance and will be able to compete against the competitors.

Other vital details are yet to be revealed; however, as Notebookcheck says, Redmi is heavily marketing the Redmi G (2021) to be a new high-performance yet sleek gaming laptop.

This is a no brainer because we know the efficiency of these AMD chips, now paired with RTX 30-series GPUs; if Redmi prices it under $1000 price, which they most likely would, this would be a good gaming laptop. Well, we won’t have to wait long as the launch is scheduled for September 22 in China.
