Redmi A4 5G Set to Launch in India on November 20

Xiaomi showcased the Redmi A4 5G earlier this month at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024, where it revealed the designs of the Redmi A4 while also confirming its Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chip.

Xiaomi, after teasing the launch of the Redmi A4 5G in India yesterday, has now announced that the smartphone is set to take its place on our shores on November 20 along with suggesting some major specs such as display, camera, battery, and expected price among other specifications. The phone will also be available in black and white options, with availability through Xiaomi India as well on Amazon, which has a dedicated microsite live.

The Upcoming Budget Beast: Redmi A4 5G with Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chip

Confirmed to pack the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 SoC, the Redmi A4 5G is said to be the world’s first phone with this chipset. It will come with a 120Hz refresh rate 6.88-inch display which provides an improved experience for scrolling and gaming. However, the display specifics place the Redmi A4 5G as a good contender for budget seekers after reasonable specs. Over on the back, Xiaomi has outfitted a 50-MP dual camera setup with a circular module placed along the top of the back panel.

There is a fancy “Sandwich Design”, this rear module which runs in the dual-tone finish gives it a bombastic appearance. More rear camera specs weren’t confirmed, but expect to find an 8-megapixel selfie camera in the front. The Redmi A4 5G is equipped with a 5,160mAh battery, with reports indicating support for 18W wired fast charging. The phone is expected to come with Android 14, layered with Xiaomi’s new HyperOS 1.0 interface, adding improved performance and customization options.

Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a USB Type-C port. Xiaomi previously announced that the Redmi A4 5G would be priced under ₹10,000 in India, making it a value-oriented device for budget buyers. Early reports suggest the 4GB + 128GB variant will cost around ₹8,499, with potential discounts and bank offers available at launch.
