Red Dead Redemption 2 is widely regarded as one of the greatest stories in gaming history, with a heartbreaking ending that surprised gamers when it was released in 2018. The game served as a prequel to 2010’s Red Dead Redemption, which only added to the story’s bittersweet nature.
The dramatic irony of knowing that some characters’ fates are already decided before a single bullet is fired adds a melancholy undertone to Red Dead Redemption 2’s massive campaign.
Few characters in Red Dead Redemption 2 have happy endings, which was a brave choice by Rockstar, which has earned the right to attempt such a daring move in a AAA game over many years.
DLSSTweaks for Red Dead Redemption 2 has been updated by modder’stoker25′ to include support for DLSS 2 Ultra Quality and DLAA.
For those who are unfamiliar, DLSSTweaks is a DLL wrapper that can force DLAA on DLSS-supported titles. To use an updated DLSS DLL in Red Dead Redemption 2, set the OverrideDlssDll setting to the path of a nvngx dlss.dll outside of the game folder, so that RGL cannot overwrite the DLSS you’ve chosen.
You can force all DLSS levels to behave like DLAA by enabling the ForceDLAA option. Furthermore, DLSSTweaks can enable the game to use an extra “Ultra Quality” DLSS preset that would otherwise be unavailable. Players can change the scaling ratio of this preset by enabling the DLSSQualityLevels section and uncommenting the UltraQuality line.
When Rockstar decides to release Red Dead Redemption 3, the developer will have enormous shoes to fill in the form of protagonists John Marston and Arthur Morgan. The two are two of the most beloved protagonists in gaming history, and the developer will need to try something completely new to exceed player expectations. Some players want a female protagonist in Red Dead Redemption 3, and given the success of gunslinger Sadie Adler in Red Dead Redemption 2, it could be a good direction to take with the sequel.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
