Realme’s Q3 2019 shipment exceeds 10 million, Now ranks 7th globally

The Oppo separated brand had had an amazing start to 2019, growing just a year old it already made an impact in the world smartphone market. Inspired by the quality products its parent company Oppo manufactures, Realme managed to grab people’s attention with its cheaper yet quality products.

When the budget smartphone market was dominated by Xiaomi and Samsung, Realme entered into the market in March 2018 with its first smartphone Realme 1. It got a massive response by the audience for its value-for-money device.

Then they separated from Oppo to create its own identity and then they apparently never stopped making smartphones. Followed by Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro, Realme U1, Realme C1, Realme 3, Realme 3i, Realme C2, Realme 3 Pro, Realme X, Realme 5, Realme 5 Pro and finally the Realme XT. Next month the Realme X2 Pro will also be launching as well.

Realme’s focus to deliver quality products with best specs at affordable prices made the youth crazy. They made its mark with their Realme 2 series and the word of mouth just made people believe a new brand can also be so amazing and credits go to CEO Madhav Seth as well.

I have personally used Realme smartphones and I am satisfied enough, even research says people even are preferring Realme in terms of quality over its competitor Xiaomi. In 2018 when Xiaomi was stuck with the Snapdragon 636, a healthy competition laid by Realme pushed smartphone makers to bring chipsets like Snapdragon 675 and Snapdragon 710.

The mobile gaming market is increasing day by day, with better specs on a budget smartphone is indirectly helping people a lot these days. Even cameras have a strong point for Realme, stiff competition between Xiaomi and Realme has helped people experience awesome camera smartphones at a low budget.

2-3 years ago no one could ever think of a good smartphone in an Rs.6-8k price bracket and now with likes of Realme C2 or Redmi 7, the scenario has completely changed totally. Realme 3, Realme 5 have given customers huge battery smartphones with decent cameras at an Rs.10k budget.

Realme 3 Pro was a breakthrough in the Pro series of its smartphones for the company which eventually earned a lot of attention worldwide. Expanding from India, Realme has set its footprints in the Middle East and now in Europe as well.

Realme X series made a mark in “Realme’s premium segment” which eventually led consumers to experience great smartphones stuffed with a lot of new specs at a sub Rs.20k segment. With the upcoming Realme X2 Pro with Snapdragon 730G and a Snapdragon 855+ SoC, Realme is making a mark in the mid-range segment.

Now coming to sales figures, in India Realme has eaten up the market share of Xiaomi, Samsung and other key players like Huawei and Lenovo/ Motorola. In my previous article, I discussed the situation of smartphone market share as per sales in Q3 2019, in which Realme’s share jumped to 16% being fourth to Vivo, Samsung and Xiaomi respectively.

Now, coming to global figures we see Counterpoint has revealed that Realme has shipped more than 10 million units in Q3 2019. It has achieved an incredible 808% YoY growth for and now ranks 7th in the top global smartphone list.

Back in Q2 2019, Realme made it into the top 10 smartphone brand list in the world and now after Q3 2019 it has reached 7 within 18 months of its establishment. This is truly incredible considering how stiff competition the smartphone market is facing.

Among its record amount of shipment, India and Indonesia alone contribute to nearly 80% of the company’s shipments. Realme has already established itself in over 20 countries and with the recent Realme X2 Pro launch, it now aims to crack the European market also.
