Realme has been growing exponentially year over year since its inception. The growth of the company is backed by its entry into new markets and solid sales numbers. It comes as no surprise that Realme is the fastest-growing smartphone brand even without its presence in the largest consumer market, the USA.
Not for long, Realme is looking to change this in 2022. In an interview with Android Authority, Realme executive Madhav Sheth has confirmed that the brand intends to enter into the US markets this year, however, he did not provide a timeline.
He did confirm certain details which could be a bit of a downer for those eagerly expecting Realme devices to launch in the USA. Like Xiaomi, Realme will also not be bringing its smartphones to the USA.
Instead, Realme is planning to release IT and AIoT products. We can expect the firm to launch products such as streaming devices, robot vacuums, truly wireless earphones, smartwatches, power banks, and so on.
The USA is a tough market with cutthroat competition, the majority of the sales in this market happen via carriers and they hold more power than the manufacturers themselves. Realme is a Chinese company, this makes it even worse for them if they introduced smartphones in the USA.
So far, only a handful of Chinese companies have managed to sell phones in the USA successfully, OnePlus, is probably the most successful one, Realme could maybe look to introduce phones at some point in the future and experience the same amount of success it does in other global markets.
